Edgar Grundler was born in Karlsruhe on 19 August 1953. Today he lives and works in Allensbach on Lake Constance. The trained precision mechanic and mechanical engineer co-founded a company for inspection and test systems in electronics manufacturing as early as 1979 and was responsible for sales and marketing as managing partner until the end of 1985. He then worked as a freelance technical editor for the German trade magazines Scope and Handling, where he became editor-in-chief in 1989. Since 1994 he has worked as a freelance trade journalist for various trade magazines in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and as a consultant in "Management auf Zeit" he is also responsible for the analysis, consulting, conception and implementation of several Relanch projects in Germany and Switzerland. He also uses his expertise in the fields of metalworking, automation and logistics as a service provider for technical documentation. Grundler has been a member of ViF since 1994.
